Amanda & Artie: Old Sturbridge Village Wedding

Amanda & Artie were married on the first day of December at Old Sturbridge Village, where her parents were married 30 years before. It was a chilly, bright day, and we arrived to a very thin layer of snow on the ground. The grounds were all decorated for Christmas, looking like a quaint New England holiday village. Amanda looked so perfect for a winter wedding, all glowing in white with green details – and Artie was so excited to see her when they met for their First Look on the path leading to the chapel where they would be married. These two have so much fun together, and keep each other laughing constantly. The bridal party joined us for photos, all looking perfect for a holiday wedding as well, in greens, blues and gray shawls for the girls. The village is such a cool spot for photos, we could have stayed there all day, especially with the added fun of Christmas decorations! But, we had to finish up and get to the ceremony eventually, which was held in the old chapel on the grounds. Amanda and the girls arrived to the ceremony by horse drawn carriage, where she met Artie on the alter to exchange I Dos. The chapel is cozy and about as old New England as it gets – when Amanda & Artie made their way back down the aisle, they signaled their marriage by ringing the bell atop the church, by way of rope. After a few more photos, they jumped in the carriage to be taken to the reception, which was decked out in Christmas trees, candles and wreaths. They had taken a ballroom dancing class to prepare for their first dance, so they got to show off their moves to all their family and friends – we got a sneak peek at their engagement session 🙂 They had a perfect day – we love Christmas, and this was a really cool wedding with two of the nicest people, so it was a great way to kick off the start of a few winter weddings for us!

Thanks and congrats to Amanda & Artie!

Congratulations to you both! I was a florist for over 30 years and I have to say that it was rare to see this much smiling and happiness. You made this special day your own. You chose a perfect venue. I wish that I had been a guest. You were a stunning bride and your groom was very dashing. The photography was amazing.
    Your flowers were spectacular.
I am so happy you had this wonderful day. Best wishes for a very happy and long life together!
