Maureen & Scott: MIT Wedding

Maureen & Scott were married on a perfect Saturday in June at MIT in Cambridge. We started the day with them at their nearby hotel, where the emotions were in full swing right from the beginning, as they read each other’s cards – Maureen & Scott and their families are from the Midwest, and are truly some of the nicest people you’d want to meet. I guess what the say about Midwesterners is true! They were excited to have all of their friends and family in town to see this beautiful city that they now call home. And they couldn’t have had a more gorgeous weekend to show it off. After a First Look on the hotel’s roof, we headed over to the MIT sailing pavilion, right on the Charles with a gorgeous view of the skyline and sail boats dotting the water. Maureen was one of the most animated, happiest brides we’ve ever seen, so she and Scott kept each other smiling all day long. Between that, the perfect day and gorgeous views, we couldn’t have asked for more! After the sailing pavilion, we crossed the street and hit up a few more locations on our walk to the MIT Chapel, including the steps of Walker Memorial Hall where the reception would be held later, Killian Court and MIT’s famed Number Man sculpture. There are so many great spots on MIT’s campus, we’re glad we had the time to use so many! As we got to the chapel, guests were starting to arrive and the ceremony was about to get underway. The chapel on campus is a very cool building, rounded on the outside, with a small marble alter inside in front of a hanging installation of reflective metal that looks like a waterfall. Not a bad place to tie the knot! Maureen & Scott kept their family involved in the ceremony, inviting their parents to stand and be acknowledged, and having their siblings come up and share in the signing of a covenant. It was a beautiful ceremony, followed by the guests and the new Mr. & Mrs. making their way back out into the sunshine and down the street to the reception at Walker. Cocktail hour was awaiting them, with yard games on the lawn and views of the city through the trees. Once inside, the bride and groom were toasted by their parents and friends, before treating everyone to an amazing buffet of food inspired by their travels. They spent the rest of the night tearing up the dance floor, and celebrating with friends from near and far. We loved meeting and getting to know these two, and were thrilled to spend their big day with them!

Thanks and congrats to Maureen & Scott!
