Brittany & Matt were married on July 5th at the Hellenic Center in Ipswich, MA. Brittany is from Oklahoma, and Matt is from Cape Ann, so they decided to have their wedding in a southern-style mansion here in New England…the best of both worlds. Brittany’s family rented a beautiful house on the beach in Gloucester for the girls to get ready at, while Matt and the boys got ready at a hotel on Cape Ann marina. Brittany had chosen red and robin’s egg blue as colors, to fit in with her vintage theme and as a nod to the 4th of July. By the time the bridal party had arrived at the Hellenic Center for finishing touches, the girls looked fantastic in their retro curls and red lipstick, and the guys were classic in gray vests and crisp white shirts. (Except for Matt, who wore a red and white gingham shirt…love it!) After one of our favorite first looks ever (Matt couldn’t stop crying), it was on to portraits, followed by the laugh and tear-filled ceremony. Red gingham handkerchiefs came in handy for the bridal party, for both wiping away tears and braving the 100 degree heat during the ceremony. Afterwards, the seven piece band began playing, and it was a non-stop party. They played Oklahoma for the the bride’s side, and Dirty Water for the groom’s. Everyone danced all night, until the final song…a sing along to Bohemian Rhapsody. Awesome.
At the end of the night, Brittany and Matt exited through a sea of sparklers and pulled away in Matt’s father’s vintage Fiat. We could not have been more excited to be a part of their wedding, and were so impressed by everything we saw. They put so much thought and effort into making their day perfect (so many DIY projects!), and it paid off. The wedding was gorgeous, and Matt and Brittany are wonderful people. Congrats guys, we wish you nothing but happiness!
