Simone & Peter: Red Barn at Hampshire College Wedding

Simone & Peter were married on a perfect Friday evening in June in Amherst, MA. We started our day with them at the Hotel Northampton as they got ready, and we were able to do some photos in the gorgeous atrium of the hotel before heading out. Simone looked absolutely stunning in the bright, airy room, and it was a perfect place to start the day. When we arrived at the Red Barn, we got right into the First Look, and these two had so much fun with it, as you can see! They really compliment each other perfectly, and they were so easy to photograph together. They seem to have so much fun together, and were just being themselves and enjoying the day so much – they really never stopped laughing and smiling all day. After photos, everyone went inside to freshen up and guests began arriving for the ceremony. Simone’s grandfather, in his military uniform, took his place waiting for her to make her entrance so he could walk her down the aisle. Simone had told us in our original meeting that her grandparents were a very important part of the day, but she filled us in a little bit more when we got there that day. They have been married for 75 years, and there were little touches throughout Simone & Peter’s day dedicated to them, like their original cake topper adorning Simone & Peter’s cake. Seeing Simone’s grandfather walk her down the aisle was so special, and watching him hand her off to Peter – just the sweetest thing. Simone & Peter wrote their own vows, which were written in custom made books stamped with their newly shared last name. Of course they had each other, and everyone else laughing through tears, and then sealed it all with a kiss. Once they were husband & wife, everyone headed over to the lawn for yard games and cocktails, before heading in to the barn for dinner. The barn is the perfect rustic setting, with gorgeous dark wood, big windows and white lights strung everywhere. The room was perfectly complimented by fresh flowers in silver tins, table numbers done in needlepoint by Peter’s mom and homemade fudge as favors (which we can confirm was delicious). Simone & Peter entered the room, and danced their first dance as Mr. & Mrs. with smiles plastered on their faces, as their friends and family looked on. After toasts by Peter’s brother, Simone’s sister and both Moms, Simone took to the dance floor with her grandfather. Yet another of the sweetest moments we’ve seen, and I am almost sure there was not a single person in the room who didn’t have tears in their eyes. It was truly a beautiful day, with two such nice people so in love with each other – days like this one really make us love what we do.

Much thanks and congrats to Simone & Peter (and grandma & grandpa)
